On 2 June, the Fourth China-Russia Library Forum was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Wang Jianhua, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, Alexeyeva, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and Hu Yun, Vice Governor of Sichuan Province, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
As an important component of the cultural exchange mechanism between China and Russia, this forum was jointly sponsored by the National Library of China (NLC) and the Russian State Library (RSL), co-organized by the Library Society of China and the Russian Library Association, and supported by Sichuan Provincial Library, with "Library Resource Construction and Service under the Background of High-quality Development" as the theme. The principals of the NLC and the RSL delivered keynote speeches. The participants held exchanges and discussions on the four sub-themes, namely the construction of library resource systems and the transformation of service models empowered by digital intelligence, the digital preservation and practices of cultural heritage, the collaborative sharing of library resources and sustainable development across regions, as well as the missions and innovations of libraries in advancing nationwide reading. They worked together to promote the collaborative development of the librarianship in the new era and continue to deepen the exchange of ideas and mutual learning between the library communities of China and Russia.

Senior management talents, experts, and scholars from the library communities in China and Russia participated in the forum.
