On 15 May, Chen Ying, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the NLC and Deputy Director of the NLC, met with Leslie Weir, the President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), and her delegation.

Both sides exchanged views on the sound exchanges and cooperative relations between Chinese library community and the IFLA, as well as the active participation of various types of libraries across China in international affairs and their steadily growing international influence. They also expressed their expectations for the NLC to participate in the IFLA centennial celebration series activities and carry out more exchanges and cooperation in the future.

Leslie Weir and her delegation also visited the exhibitions of the National Museum of Classic Books and the stacks of the Complete Library of the Four Branches of Literature.
