On 12 August, the opening ceremony of the National Library of China Exhibition of Compilation Achievements of Documents on the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was held in the NLC. Chen Ying, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the NLC and Deputy Director of the NLC, and Jin Yilin, Deputy Director of the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Vice President of the Academy of History of Chinese Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Wei Chong, Deputy Director of the NLC, presided over the opening ceremony.
The exhibition consisted of four sections, i.e. “Compilation and Publication of Documents on the CCP’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression”, “Compilation and Publication of Documents on the Whole-nation War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression", “Compilation and Publication of Documents on Japanese War Crimes in China”, and “Compilation and Publication of Documents on the Trials of Japanese War Criminals”. It systematically displayed the achievements of the NLC on rescue, compilation, and research of documents on war of resistance since 2012 when Revolutionary Documents and Minguo Documents Preservation Project was launched. The exhibition integrated various display manners, i.e. display boards, physical objects, scanning codes to access to archival resources such as the "Tokyo Trials", "Japanese bacteriological warfare", and so on. The exhibition also featured interactive elements like commemorative medals and book tickets themed on the war of resistance. The audience could write down their impressions of the exhibition on the message wall.
The exhibition is held in the hall of the second floor in the NLC North Area, and will run until 15 October, 2025. In addition, seven libraries in Hebei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Hubei provinces are hosting concurrent exhibitions, with the same content also available online via “Revolutionary Documents and Minguo Documents Preservation Project”.
