The “Intelligent Service Platform for Chinese Ancient Books” (https://guji.nlc.cn) had received widespread attention from all sectors of society since it was launched on 23 April. As of 18 May, it had received over 670000 visits.
As an important component of the national smart library system construction, the “Intelligent Service Platform for Chinese Ancient Books” integrated more than 10000 titles of digital resources of ancient books from the National Library of China and ancient books collection institutions from various regions, included many featured topics, such as "Yellow River in Ancient Books", "Hundred Classics", "The Classic of Mountains and Rivers", "Daily Classic Reading", and so on, and also provided links to featured ancient book resources from various provinces, providing open and shared, comprehensive and diverse ancient book resources as well as science & technology-empowered, convenient and efficient knowledge services for readers.
The “Intelligent Service Platform for Chinese Ancient Books” combined professional services with public needs. In addition to basic functions such as retrieval, navigation, and text comparison reading, it used advanced technologies to provide automatic sentence reading, automatic translation, knowledge extraction, and other services, lowering the threshold for reading ancient books and bringing them closer to readers. The platform integrated intelligent tools such as online dictionaries, version comparisons, chronology conversion, ancient and modern place names, Chinese character origins, Chinese character stroke order, Chinese character calligraphy, automatic OCR, etc., to assist ancient book enthusiasts, experts and scholars in ancient book research and learning, achieving breakthroughs in professional services and expanding public services. In addition, the platform also deeply integrated the vertical domain models of ancient books with the cutting-edge models of the DeepSeek series to launch AI intelligent assistants, enhancing user interaction experience and better meeting the personalized reading and research needs of different user groups.
During the trial operation, the platform continuously released ancient book resources, extensively collected readers’ opinions, and continuously optimized various functions.
