Chen Ying, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the NLC and Deputy Director of the NLC, attends the 15th Conference on Cooperative Development and Sharing of Chinese Resources

From 27 November to 28 November, the 15th Conference on Cooperative Development and Sharing of Chinese Resources was held online. With “Reaching back to move forward” as the theme, the conference was hosted by Council of the Conference on Cooperative Development and Sharing of Chinese Resources, organized by Hong Kong Public Libraries, and co-organized by Hong Kong Library Association and the Joint Universities Librarians Advisory Committee. Chen Ying, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the National Library of China (NLC) and Deputy Director of the NLC, Li Zijun, Assistant Director (Library and Development) of Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Li Zhenhong, President of the Hong Kong Library Association, and Huang Chaorong, Chairman of Hong Kong Library Association and the Joint Universities Librarians Advisory Committee, attended the opening ceremony. About 270 representatives from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and foreign institutions attended the conference.

Chen Ying gave a keynote speech titled "New Development of the Cooperative Development and Sharing of Chinese Resources in the Digital Intelligence Era”, reviewing the main achievements of cooperative development and sharing of Chinese resources over the past 20 years. Combining with the construction of the Chinese Ancient Books Intelligent Service Platform of the NLC, she shared her thoughts and plans on strengthening communication and cooperation in the field of cooperative development and sharing of Chinese resources.

The conference focused on the new development opportunities and challenges faced by various Chinese literature resource collection and service institutions in the context of the global transition to digitalization and intelligence. Through three sub-themes of "Review, Rethinking, and Innovation of Literature Digitization", "New Interpretation of Technology Empowerment, Literature Preservation and Revitalization", and "Dialogue, Protection, and Utilization of Cultural Relics and Literature", the representatives had in-depth exchanges on cooperative development and sharing of Chinese resources in different regions in manner of reports and discussions, learned advanced concepts and experience from each other, and further strengthened consensus.

During the conference, the 17th Council Meeting of the Conference on Cooperative Development and Sharing of Chinese Resources was held, with representatives from the governing institutions attending. They summarized the recent work of the council and discussed plans for future work.
