On 10 September, "Ancient Masterpieces, Glorious Literary Heritage—the Exhibition of Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture Classics" opened to the public in the first exhibition hall of the National Museum of Classics. On the occasion of the 115th anniversary of the establishment of the National Library of China (NLC), the NLC specially planned this exhibition, in collaboration with the Liaoning Provincial Library, Shanghai Library, Nanjing Library, Zhejiang Library, Shandong Museum, Sun Yat-sen Library of Guangdong Province, Gansu Bamboo Slips Museum, and Jingzhou Museum. The exhibition selected rare books handed down through generations and precious unearthed documents, including oracle bone inscriptions, bamboo and silk documents, stone inscriptions, rare books, and so on.
The exhibition was divided into five sections, i.e. "National Foundation Classics", "Axial Age", "Chinese Unity", "Exchange and Mutual Learning" and "Cultural Peaks". It also especially introduced the Compilation Project of Hundred Classics of Chinese Traditional Culture, and Chinese Ancient Books Preservation Project. A total of 54 titles of precious exhibits, totaling 75 volumes/items, were displayed.
Various forms of multimedia interactive exhibits were also set up in the exhibition hall, leading the audience to enter the world of classics through new technologies. Free QR code-based audio guides in both Chinese and English were provided, and visitors could scan the codes to access expanded reading materials and learn more about the exhibits based on the information on the display tags of precious ancient books.
