Xi Jinping pointed out that the Chinese civilization had a long history, which was enriched and developed through exchanges and mutual learning with other civilizations in the world. Tracing back to the source of history was the key to understanding the real world, following the cultural foundation was the key to identifying China today, and mutual learning among civilizations was the key to achieving common progress. He hoped that experts and scholars from various countries could serve as ambassadors for the integration of Chinese and foreign civilizations, continuously promote research on world Chinese studies, promote cultural exchange and mutual learning, and inject ideological and cultural strength into the flourishing of world civilization.

Chen Ying proposed four cooperation expectations to the attendees and the Chinese academic community: firstly, to maintain the tradition of collecting documents on Chinese studies, continuously improve and enrich the collection of documents on Chinese studies; second,  to carry forward the expertise in editing specialized bibliographies on Chinese studies and continuously promote the construction of Chinese study catalogue; thirdly, to integrate overseas resources on Chinese studies and gradually build a one-stop service platform for Chinese studies; fourth, to carry out global exchange and cooperation in Chinese studies literature, strive to build a community of academic research on Chinese studies, and make contributions to the prosperity and development of world Chinese studies through the NLC.
