On September 1, Chen Ying, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the National Library of China (NLC) and Deputy Director of the NLC, met with a delegation led by Uzbekistan Ambassador to China, Arziev Farhod. Zhang Wei, Deputy Director of the Research Institute (Coordination & Operation Management Division), and Zhang Xu, Director of the International Cooperation Division, were present at the meeting.

Chen Ying introduced the general condition of the NLC and the recent exchanges between the NLC and various cultural institutions in Uzbekistan to Arziev Farhod, and said that the NLC will donate books to the Children's Library of Uzbekistan to deepen the friendship between the two peoples. She said, China and Uzbekistan are both major ancient civilizations on the Silk Road, and cooperation between libraries of China and Uzbekistan is an important component of cultural exchanges. The NLC is willing to carry out further in-depth cooperation projects in the future.

Arziev Farhod expressed gratitude to the NLC for our reception and made suggestions for further cooperation between the Children's Library of Uzbekistan and the NLC. He also introduced cultural activities that Uzbekistan has recently conducted in China and hoped to work with the NLC in multiple cultural fields in the future.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the National Museum of Classic Books.
