On 10 May, the National Library of China (NLC) signed a cooperation agreement with the Tang West Market Group (TWMG). At the same time, the Art Exhibitions China (AEC) also signed a cooperation agreement with the TWMG. Xiong Yuanming, Director of the NLC, Tan Ping, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the AEC and Director of the AEC, and Lv Jianzhong, Chairman of the Board of the TWMG, addressed a speech respectively, and signed cooperation agreement. Huo Ruijuan, Deputy Director of the NLC, presided over the signing ceremony.
Xiong Yuanming warmly welcomed the guests on behalf of the NLC. He said that after sufficient communication and discussion with the TWMG, the NLC and the TWMG had reached a strategic partnership for sustainable development. They hoped to explore an effective way for the coordinated development and positive interaction between cultural undertakings and the cultural industry through close cooperation between each other, and jointly make new and greater contributions to enhancing the country's cultural soft power and forging a new glory in socialist culture.
Tan Ping said that the AEC actively participated in the construction of the "Cultural Digital Silk Road", made full use of the development achievements of digital information technology, innovate the interpretation and dissemination of Chinese cultural symbols and spiritual signs, deepen international exchanges and cooperation on cultural relics and cultural heritage, explore the establishment of a transnational trading and circulation platform for digital cultural works of art, and promote the high-quality development of "The Belt and Road" with cultural and digital forces.
Lv Jianzhong introduced to the guests the important progress made by the TWMG in promoting the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy. He said that the TWMG would give play to its research and application advantages in digital twin, virtual space, cloud computing, AR/VR/MR and other digital technologies to assist in the digital construction of the NLC. The TWMG would take this signing as an opportunity, driven by advanced digital technology and data elements, and seize the opportunity of the "Cultural Digital Silk Road", which was an international cultural and art registration, exchange, trading, and circulation platform with multiple chains, languages, varieties, and currencies (the "Four Multiple"), to empower the transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development of the cultural industry and cultural heritage industry with advanced digital technology, promote the exchange, trade, and circulation of cultural and artistic works, achieve international and domestic dual circulation, and enhance international cultural exchange and mutual learning.
According to the agreement, the NLC and the TWMG would conduct extensive and in-depth cooperation in areas such as inter-museum exchange and cooperation, cultural and creative research and development and joint sales, development and utilization of ancient book resources, and digital asset issuance and trading. This signing ceremony was a good beginning for the establishment of a cooperative relationship between the NLC and the TWMG. In the future, both sides would fully utilize their respective resources and advantages, establish long-term cooperation mechanisms in development strategies, talent cultivation, institutional construction, business activities, and so on, strengthen communication and interaction, innovate cooperation models, better protect, research, inherit, and utilize excellent traditional Chinese culture, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
