Recently, Hu Heping, Secretary of CPC Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, had visited the Palace Museum, the National Museum of China and the National Library of China (NLC) successively. Hu Heping inspected infrastructures, exhibitions and display, public services, protection and restoration of cultural relics and documents of the three institutions, and had discussions with leaders of the three institutions.

Hu Heping said that the Palace Museum should protect, study and display the cultural heritage of the Palace Museum, and play a positive role in protecting and inheriting human civilization. We should adhere to the cultural heritance and make innovations, promote creative transformation and innovative development on the basis of protection, hold excellent exhibitions and strengthen the development of cultural and creative products. The National Museum of China should focus on meeting the new expectations of the people for a better life and plan excellent exhibitions that can be understood and appreciated by more audiences. We should carry forward the socialist core values throughout the whole process of exhibitions, and give better play to the role of cultivating people with culture. The NLC should thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's reply letter to the senior experts of the NLC, and continue to improve public services to better meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the people. We should do well ancient books protection and collation, promote research and utilization and inherit human civilization.

Hu Heping stressed that we should thoroughly study and implement general secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition spirit on the protection and utilization of cultural heritage and the important instructions for the development of the librarianship, strengthen our cultural confidence, and bring the cultural relics in museums, the heritage on display in the vast land and the words written in ancient books to life, carry forward the traditional Chinese culture, and present the great achievements of building socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. We should promote public cultural services, improve system construction, optimize resource allocation, and comprehensively improve efficiency. We should always adhere to the correct political direction and development direction, put social benefits in the first place, realize the unity of social benefits and economic benefits, use culture to gather power for forging ahead and tell stories to the people.
