On 31 August, the National Library of China (NLC) and China Literature Limited jointly held a press conference on "collecting classics of the times, enjoying online literature", which officially announced that the NLC and China Literature Limited achieved a strategic cooperation. Zhang Xu, member of the Party Committee and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Hu Bangsheng, member of the Party Committee of China Writers Association, Rao Quan, Director of the NLC and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the NLC, Wei Dawei, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the NLC and Deputy Director of the NLC, Cheng Wu, Chief Executive Officer of China Literature Limited, Vice President of Tencent, and Chief Executive Officer of Tencent Pictures, principals and experts from related departments of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, China Writers Association, Chinese Literature Foundation, China Cultural Media Group Co., Ltd, China Arts and Entertainment Group Ltd., the NLC, and China Literature Limited, and representatives of writers whose works were collected, attended the press conference. In the conference, China Literature Limited officially became the second web archiving base of the NLC. Meanwhile, 100 excellent online works from China Literature Limited were collected by the NLC.

Zhang Xu said that the NLC cooperated with China Literature Limited to establish the second web archiving base of the NLC and collect excellent original online works. It was an active exploration in web information archiving and service field, which was conducive to expanding the new mode of public cultural services, enriching the effective supply of public cultural services, and better meeting the people's diverse needs for reading. At the same time, it was also conducive to further cultivating the new cultural format of online literature, encouraging more new forces to create excellent online literature works, injecting fresh blood into the prosperity of cultural undertakings, and promoting the prosperity and development of cultural industry.

The NLC and China Literature Limited had reached strategic cooperation, i.e. the second web archiving base of the NLC was settled in China Literature Limited, which would promote canonization of online literature, enhance the quality and influence of online literature, and have a positive impact on promoting the development of online literature. Rao Quan said that the new type of literature content resources represented by online literature was collected by the NLC, which would help to enrich the NLC collections, improve the collection and preservation system of Internet information resources, and play an important role in serving the public reading and learning. Besides, it was also helpful for the long-term preservation and effective utilization of high-quality online literature works, promoted these excellent online literature works to play a more important role in spreading Chinese civilization, and provided more space for the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture. Meanwhile, he hoped that more and more Internet enterprises and information service institutions would actively participate in the preservation of Internet memory in the future, and work together with the NLC to build a human digital memory repository in the new era, so as to gather the great power to promote the sustainable inheritance of the achievements of national civilization and the memory of the times.

It was also a mirror reflecting the current reality and social psychology. China Literature Limited became a web archiving base. As a content platform, it was the bounden duty of China Literature Limited to timely and effectively record the current ideological style and the development process of the times through the wonderful online literature. The vigorous vitality of culture came from flow and innovation. By relying on "history", based on "present" and facing "future", we could continue the grand historical inheritance with digital culture, and retain the memory of the times with fresh originality, so that the light of culture could be always shining. This cooperation was a new progress that the NLC jointly built a hierarchical and distributed Internet information strategic preservation system in conjunction with social forces. The inclusion of online literature into the national literature and information resources preservation system showed that the deep integration of Chinese traditional reading culture and contemporary online popular culture.
