On 19 April, the National Library of China (NLC) signed a cooperation agreement with the Information Research Center of Military Sciences, the Academy of Military Sciences, officially establishing "The Branch of the Academy of Military Sciences of the NLC". Rao Quan, Director of the NLC, and Liu Linshan, Director of the Information Research Center of Military Sciences, inaugurated the branch.

Chen Ying, Deputy Director of the NLC, and Chen Rui, Deputy Director of the Information Research Center of Military Sciences, signed the agreement on behalf of both sides.

The NLC presented 40 titles of 100 Classics of Chinese Traditional Culture to the Branch of the Academy of Military Sciences. Rao Quan and his colleagues visited the Exhibition of Rare Military Books in the Library of the Academy of Military Sciences.

The Branch of the Academy of Military Sciences of the NLC, which was managed by the Information Research Center of Military Sciences, was the 19^th branch established by the NLC in the relevant ministries and commissions of the central and state organs and military institutions. The NLC provided support and guidance in business, technology and services. Both sides would strengthen cooperation on document supply, cooperative development of resources, military ancient books preservation and conservation, project declaration, training and exchange.

The establishment of the Branch of the Academy of Military Sciences was the concrete practice of the NLC and the Information Research Center of Military Sciences to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on the unity between the people and the army, and was beneficial cooperation in the strategic areas of military-civilian integration and strengthening the armed forces with knowledge. The NLC would further give full play to the advantages of literature resources, develop thematic digital resources for the branch library, help the intelligent upgrading construction of the branch library, enhance the ability of the branch library to serve the military informatization, and make contributions to the vigorous development of national defense and military scientific research.
