Recently, the First Online Training Course for the Silk Road International Library Alliance Librarians with Construction and Development of Digital Libraries as the theme was held, which was sponsored by the Silk Road International Library Alliance Steering Committee Office. Wei Dawei, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the NLC, and Deputy Director of the NLC, gave the first lecture for the training course.
The First Online Training Course for the Silk Road International Library Alliance, which was implemented by the NLC, was the key work of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to promote the Belt and Road Initiative in 2021. After preliminary research and repeated argumentations, we recorded the lectures of experts, sent the video access links and questionnaires to member institutions of the alliance, collected feedback and carried out interactive Q & A, and completed the online training of the three lectures in the frequency of one lecture per week.
As an expert in the field of digital library, Wei Dawei gave the first video lecture. He systematically and comprehensively introduced the construction and development the National Digital Library of China, and shared the exploration and practice of National Digital Library Project, Digital Library Promotion Project, and construction planning of smart library.
Xie Qiang, Director of the NLC Digital Resource & Service Department and Information Technology Department, Chen Shun, Deputy Director of the Fujian Provincial Library, and Dou Peng, Director of Local Document Department of Shaanxi Library, gave video lectures on topics such as the service innovation of the digital library and the construction of thematic resource database of the Silk Road.
The First Online Training Course had received extensive attention and achieved good results. The Silk Road International Library Alliance Steering Committee Office would actively sum up the experience, invite training experts to give video lectures annually based on the needs of alliance member institutions, provide librarians from the "Belt and Road Initiative" countries with exchange opportunity in the fields of document resource construction, ancient books preservation, digital library construction, and so on, and further strengthen the training of talents in the libraries of the "Belt and Road Initiative" countries.
