On 22 February, the Staff Conference of the National Library of China (NLC), 2022 was held. Zhang Xu, a member of the CPC Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Li Hong, Director of Public Service Department, attended the conference. Xiong Yuanming, Director of the NLC and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the NLC, addressed a speech. Wei Dawei, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the NLC and Deputy Director of the NLC, presided over the conference. NLC Deputy Directors Zhang Zhiqing, Chen Ying, Wang Dongbo, Zhang Jun and Huo Ruijuan, leaders and representatives of each division and department, and the representatives of the retired were present.

In his speech, Zhang Xu said that in 2021, guided by Xi Jinping's socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, the NLC thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of the 19^th CPC National Congress and all plenary sessions, carefully implemented the decision-making and deployment of the CPC Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, comprehensively promoted security and development, achieved a good start of the 14^th Five-year Plan, and made remarkable achievements in various items of work. He also put forward requirements on how to further improve the work of the NLC in 2022. First, we should adhere to the correct political direction, thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping's socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and enhance the sense of responsibility and mission. Second, we should adhere to high-quality development, and constantly enhance the people's sense of cultural acquisition and happiness. Third, we should adhere to cultural inheritance and innovation, and promote the inheritance and promotion of Chinese excellent traditional culture. Fourth, we should adhere to the empowerment of science and technology and accelerate the construction of digitization, networking and intelligence; Fifth, we should improve the management level and strengthen the construction of talent team.

On behalf of the NLC leadership, Xiong Yuanming summarized the main work in 2021, deployed key tasks for in 2022, and proposed four requirements for the staff, i.e. adhere to the correct political direction, and serve the overall situation around the center; strengthen learning and exercise excellent skills; work hard and make contributions based on the post; strengthen the awareness of safety responsibility and keep the red line and bottom line of safety.

In the conference, the NLC leaders read out the decisions on awarding and commending various rewards in 2021. The leaders in the platform presented honorary certificates to the representatives who got awards in 2021 and staff who had worked in the NLC for 30 years.
