The 4th Forum of the Silk Road International Library Alliance is held

On 6 September, the 4th Forum of the Silk Road International Library Alliance, which was sponsored by the National Library of China (NLC) and organized by Qatar National Library, was held online. The forum theme was "Best Practices & Challenges in Sharing Digital Content". Director of the NLC Xiong Yuanming, Director of Qatar National Library, Director of the National Library of Armenia, Director of the National Library of Indonesia, Director Assistant of the National Library of the Philippines, and Director of Digital Content and Participation Department of Qatar National Library, attended the conference and made speeches on the theme. Chen Ying, Deputy Director of the NLC, attended the conference.

Xiong Yuanming made a report entitled "Cooperative Development • Sharing—Assisting the Sustainable Development of the Alliance with Digital Cooperation", which focused on the development and services of digital resources, sharing and cooperation of the NLC, introduced the main work of the Alliance Steering Committee Office in the past year to the participants, and announced that the Silk Road Digital Library was launched officially and the Second Silk Road International Library Alliance Online Training Course for Librarians was launched.

 

This forum was an important achievement in implementing the spirit of "The First Silk Road International Library Alliance Conference" in 2021. A total of 38 representatives of member institutions at home and abroad participated in the conference, further strengthening exchanges among member institutions. In addition, members of the Exchange and Cooperation Committee of the Library Society of China were also invited to participate in the conference.
