From September to October 2022, the Second Online Training Course for the Silk Road International Library Alliance Librarians was held, which was sponsored by the Silk Road International Library Alliance Steering Committee Office. With the theme of "Construction and Development of Digital Library", this training course invited many experts from the Alliance to give lectures.
Xiong Yuanming, Director of the National Library of China (NLC), delivered a speech at the opening of the training course. He pointed out that since its establishment, the Alliance had received strong support from its member institutions and related work had been carried out smoothly. As one of the brand projects of the Alliance, this series of training courses provided opportunities for the development of member institutions to cultivate talents and improve the skills of librarians. In the future, the Alliance Steering Committee would continue to invite more experts to give lectures, so as to contribute to the development of the Alliance.
This training course consisted of 5 episodes. About 10 experts in the field of digital library from different countries gave lectures on digital resources construction, digital collections development, multimedia technology application and digital transformation practice, and so on. The experts adopted the teaching mode of combining lectures and interviews, as well as the presentation form of pictures and videos, to present the construction achievements of each library in the digital process from multiple perspectives.
It was the second training course for alliance members after the first online training course in 2021. This series of videos had been uploaded on the official website of the Alliance, "Silk Road Digital Library", for the Alliance members to learn and watch repeatedly.
