UNESCO’s support to the project that produced this manual --through the International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC)-- enabled the UNESCO Chair on Community Media at the University of Hyderabad to conduct research and consultations with a range of community radios in India, despite the fact that the research was conducted at the peak of the COVID-19 crisis.The manual is intended to ensure that community radio stations embrace gender-sensitive policies to enhance equitable gender relations in their management and operations. The goal is to create a progressive and deeper understanding of issues concerning women, safeguarding their rights, and promoting gender justice within the stations.
