Rao Quan, NLC Director, leads a delegation to the Eisei-Bunko Museum in Japan

From October 21 to 25, on the invitation of the Eisei-Bunko Museum in Japan, a 5-person delegation of the National Library of China (NLC), led by Rao Quan, Director of the NLC, visited Japan.

During the visit to the Eisei-Bunko Museum, Rao Quan met with Morihiro HosoKawa, Former Japanese Prime Minister and Director of the Eisei-Bunko Museum. Rao Quan said that Mr. Hosokawa was an old friend of Chinese people and had done a lot of useful work to promote friendly exchanges between the two countries. That the Eisei-Bunko Museum owned by the Hosokawa family donated 4,175 rare Chinese books to the NLC in 2018 reflected that Mr. Hosokawa paid great attention to Sino-Japanese relations and the friendly feelings towards the Chinese people. In order to meet readers' needs for reading and research, Rao Quan presented a set of Four Titles of the Eisei-Bunko Museum to Morihiro Hosokawa, which were photocopied versions of four titles of representative Chinese books selected from the donated books of the Eisei-Bunko Museum last year. After that, Morihiro Hosokawa accompanied the delegation to visit the Eisei-Bunko Museum's autumn exhibition. Shi Yongjing, Minister Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Japan, also attended the event.

The delegation and the Eisei-Bunko Museum also discussed the details of the "Morihiro Hosokawa Calligraphy Exhibition" to be held in November this year, and communicated with each other on the exhibition cooperation plans in 2020 and 2021. During the visit to Kumamoto, Rao Quan also met with Morimitsu Hosokawa, the director of the Futo Co.,Ltd.

During the visit to the National Diet Library (NDL), Rao Quan met with Sawako Hanyu, director of the NDL.
