Han Yongjin, Director of the NLC, met with Heo Yongbom , the director of The National Assembly Library of the Republic of Korea


On 12 June, Han Yongjin, Director of the National Library of China (NLC), met with Heo Yongbom, the director of The National Assembly Library of the Republic of Korea (NAL), and the delegation from the Republic of Korea. Sun Yigang, Deputy Director of the NLC, was also present.

Han Yongjin welcomed Heo Yongbom and the delegation´╝îhe introduced the general information of the NLC, as well as the gained achievements and confronted problems in the digitalization progress of library resources. He also conceived that library resource digitalization was a common issue for libraries worldwide and both of us should enhance communication, share experience to promote the mutual improvements of library developments.

Heo Yongbom introduced the basic situation of NAL and the endeavor they have made during the process of library resource digitalization. He indicated, with the background of the Forth Industrial Revolution, the greatest challenge for libraries in future developments was the digitalization progress of library resources in the process of better serve the public. He also denoted both libraries should enhance communication and promote pragmatic cooperation in digital resource sharing fields.

During the meeting, Heo Yongbom and the delegation visited the National Museum of Classic Books and the North Area of the NLC.
