Chen Li, Executive Deputy Director of the NLC, heads a delegation to the UK and Germany


From 12 June to 19 June, Chen Li, Executive Deputy Director of the National Library of China (NLC), headed a delegation to the UK and Germany, visited the British Library (BL), the SOAS Library, the Bavarian State Library, Munich City Library and Berlin State Library.


During the visit at the British Library, Chen Li renewed the MoU of Cooperation between the NLC and the BL with Roly Keating, Chief Executive of the BL; Xiang Xiaowei, Minister Counsellor of Cultural Section in Embassy of the PRC in the UK, was also present at the signing ceremony. At the high-level round table held by the BL, the NLC delegation and delegates from the BL had an in-depth exchange for professional works of libraries in China and the UK; both the two parties hoped that library communities in the two countries could further strengthen their cooperation, to make it a highlight in Sino-British cultural cooperation.


During the visit at the Bavarian State Library and Berlin State Library in Germany, the NLC delegation focused their research on collection, use and digitization of Chinese documents, and had deep exchange of views on library operations and services. Both the two parties hoped that Chinese and German library community should increase communication, and promote practical cooperation in the future.
