Han Yongjin, NLC Director, meets with Tunisian Ambassador to China


On 29 March, Han Yongjin, Director of the National Library of China (NLC), met with Dhia Khaled, Tunisian Ambassador to China, and received the donated books of Tunisia.

 
Han Yongjin reviewed the good cooperative relations between the NLC and Tunisian libraries. He said, in recent years, the NLC and the National Library of Tunisia (NLT) had increased mutual exchanges and cooperation, and maintained frequent exchanges of visits. Both sides signed cooperative agreement in 2015. Last year, the NLT Director attended the Second China-Arab Library and Information Science Professionals Conference in Beijing. The books donated by the ambassador were of great significances for enriching the NLC's foreign collections and showing the excellent and splendid history and culture of Tunisia to Chinese readers.

Dhia Khaled showed thanks for the NLC's warm reception. He said both Tunisia and China had a long history. As an important country along the Silk Road, Tunisia hoped to further strengthen cooperation with China, and display the splendid history and culture of the two countries through book exchanges and other manners.

After the meeting, Dhia Khaled visited the National Museum of Classic Books and the NLC North Area.
