Han Yongjin, NLC Director, meets with Leslie Greene Bowman, President of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, and her delegation


On 26 March, Han Yongjin, Director of the National Library of China (NLC), met with Leslie Greene Bowman, President of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, and her delegation. Li Honglin, Deputy Director of the NLC, and Sun Yigang, Deputy Director of the NLC, were also present.


Han Yongjin reviewed the cooperation between the NLC and the Thomas Jefferson Foundation. He said the great people of all countries had played important roles in promoting the development of history. Thomas Jefferson played an important role in American history or even the world history. He hoped that both sides could strengthen exchanges and cooperation on exhibition area, and display the outstanding history and culture of the two countries to the public. Bowman showed thanks for the NLC's warm reception. She said that compared with China's long history, America's history was very short. Therefore, Jefferson's remarkable contribution was particularly prominent. She hoped that both sides could further strengthen cooperation, and present Jefferson's the life and achievements to Chinese audiences through exhibitions and other manners.

During the visit, the delegation visited the National Museum of Classic Books, and discussed details on co-holding exhibitions with Li Honglin, Deputy Director of the NLC, and related principals.
