Chen Li, Executive Deputy Director of the NLC, meets with Elaine Ng, Chief Executive Officer of the National Library Board, Singapore


On 28 February, Chen Li, Executive Deputy Director of the National Library of China (NLC), met with Elaine Ng, Chief Executive Officer of the National Library Board, Singapore, and Wai Yin Pryke, Director of National Library of Singapore. Sun Yigang, Deputy Director of the NLC, were also present.

Chen Li introduced the NLC's recent development achievements to the guests, and focused on the adoption and implementation of The Public Library Law of the People's Republic of China. He said both sides should continue to keep close cooperation, so as to learn from each other's experiences and achieve common development. Elaine Ng showed thanks for the NLC's warm reception, expressed appreciation for the NLC's new development, and hoped that both sides could further strengthen exchanges and cooperation on digital resources collation and preservation, co-holding exhibitions, and so on.

After the meeting, Sun Yigang, Deputy Director of the NLC, and related workers held business exchanges with the Singaporean side. Both sides discussed and reached cooperation intention on digital resources acquisition, featured documents collation, cooperative development, and so on.

After the activity, the delegation visited the NLC Document Digitalization Center.
