Chen Li, Executive Deputy Director of the NLC, heads a delegation to Ecuador and Spain


From 8 June to 15 June, Chen Li, Executive Deputy Director of the National Library of China (NLC), headed a delegation to Ecuador and Spain, and visited national libraries, public libraries, and university libraries of the two countries.

 
During the visit in Ecuador, Chen Li and director of the National Library of Ecuador (NLE) signed Memorandum of Understanding between the National Library of China and the National Library of Ecuador. According to the Memorandum, both sides will develop cooperation on documents preservation and conservation, resources digitalization, personnel training, publications exchange, co-holding exhibitions and lectures, and so on. After the signing ceremony, the delegation visited the NLE and held talks. Both sides introduced the general situation of their libraries, and held thorough exchanges on related business work.

 
During the visit in Madrid, Spain, the delegation visited the National Library of Spain (NLS), held thorough business exchanges with the NLS director and workers, visited the NLS buildings and NLS history exhibition, learned about the NLS's collections and ancient books restoration situation in details. The delegation also visited Spain Queen Sofia Arts Center Library and Complutense University of Madrid Library. During visiting Barcelona in Spain, the delegation visited Catalonia Library, visited its buildings and featured collections, and held thorough business exchanges. Besides, the delegation also visited Sagrada Família Library.
