Han Yongjin meets with Linda Hofstad Helleland, Norwegian minister of culture

On 26 May, Han Yongjin, director of the National Library of China (NLC), met with a delegation led by Linda Hofstad Helleland, Norwegian minister of culture, Wei Dawei, deputy director of the NLC, were also present.

Han Yongjin showed welcome to the delegation, introduced the NLC's general situation, reviewed the exchange history of China-Norway libraries, and hoped that both sides could keep close cooperation in the future. In the following, Wei Dawei made a lecture named The Progress of National Digital Library of China Construction, which introduced the development situation of digital library.

Linda Hofstad Helleland expressed thanks for the NLC's warm reception. She said that the exchanges of China-Norway library communities had received remarkable achievements in recent years. In 2014, the National Library of Norway returned the copy of silent film The Cave Of Silken Web to China, which increased new contents for friendly cooperation in terms of culture. She hoped that both sides could take the cooperation of China-Norway library communities as an opportunity to promote China-Norway cultural exchanges.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the National Museum of Classic Books.
