Shanxi Province has a lot of cultural relics, and among them, murals have amounted to 25,000 meters. With the permission of the cultural relics department in Shanxi Province, Gu Wen Ming (Beijing) Culture Inheritance Development Agency began to do image collection of cultural relics in Shanxi Province in 2011. It took four years to photocopy featured art works from Easter Han Dynasty to Ming and Qing Dynasties in Shanxi Province, which made these materials play roles in the research areas of art, history, religion, folk custom, and so on. On the basis of long-term preservation, the NLC will fully play the important value of murals, Buddha materials, and so on, make them serve the society, and further enhance the public's cultural heritage protection consciousness.

After the donation ceremony, "Preservation and Inheritance—Shanxi Temple Art & Documents Exhibition" was open officially, which displayed mural photocopies, some valuable materials, Shanxi local chronicles, rubbings and Buddhist scriptures collected by the NLC, including the Zhaocheng Tripitaka of the Jin Dynasty, preserved in Shanxi Guangsheng Temple before.

The exhibition is free of charge and will last for one month.
