On 15 December, the unveiling ceremony of Kazakh Books Corner was held in the National Library of China (NLC). Shakhrat Nuryshev, ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the People's Republic of China, Han Yongjin, NLC director, Umutkan Munalbaeva, director of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, addressed a speech respectively in the unveiling ceremony. Han Yongjin and Umutkan Munalbaeva inaugurated Kazakh Books Corner. Chen Li, NLC executive deputy director, Kazakh famous writer Aikebaier Mijiti (transliteration), related principals of Bureau for External Cultural Relations, the Ministry of Culture, were also present.
In his speech, Han Yongjin said the establishment of Kazakh Books Corner in the NLC aimed to promote cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Kazakhstan, and strengthen mutual respect and understanding for civilization. The book donation enriched the NLC's Kazakh collections, and provided a new window for Chinese readers to understand the literature and culture of Kazakhstan.
After the unveiling ceremony, the guests visited the shelves of Kazakh Books Corner in the NLC Foreign Publications Reading Room No.1. Umutkan Munalbaeva introduced the 100 Kazakh books donated this time.
