From 28 November to 4 December, a 5-person delegation led by Aminor Mitsuaki, deputy librarian of the National Diet Library (NDL), visited the National Library of China (NLC) for the 35th business exchange between the two libraries.
On 29 November, Han Yongjin, NLC director, and Sun Yigang, NLC deputy director, met with the delegation led by Aminor Mitsuaki. Han Yongjin reviewed the business exchange history between the two libraries, affirmed the fruitful results achieved in the long-term exchanges, and hoped that both libraries could go on carrying out business exchanges in various manners, so as to promote mutual development of Chinese and Japanese librarianship. Aminor Mitsuaki said that the business exchange between the two libraries had a long history. Both libraries exchanged with each other on various themes over the years, and achieved fruitful results. The NDL was willing to go on sharing successful experiences with the NLC through exchanges.
In the two exchange meetings held on 29 November and 30 November, both sides held discussions on bibliography services, document preservation, stacks construction and so on. Zhang Zhiqing, NLC deputy director, attended the exchange meeting, and made Chinese keynote report named The development of the National Library of China in the new historical period. Aminor Mitsuaki made Japanese keynote report named From 2016 to 2017—A new journey of the National Diet Library. This business exchange promoted mutual understanding and references for each other by means of exchange meetings.
During the visit, Wang Dongbo, NLC director assistant, also attended the exchanges. Besides, the delegation visited Tongfang Knowledge Network Technology Co., Ltd., Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, the Capital Library, Shanghai Library, and so on.
